Are you feeling stuck in your healthcare journey? Sick of going to the doctor and not being listened to? Are you drained by not making progress?
Now here me out; when was the last time you actually thought about how you want your healthcare journey to go? What do you want out of going to the doctor? What is your ultimate goal? Is it realistic for today? What is your goal for this appointment?
I understand completely. Your health journey is certainly not linear, nor has mine been. But in this episode, I challenge you to look at your health journey differently. Look at how you want to feel and establish what you want. You can open your mind to the possibilities you have in front of you by changing your perspective of healthcare.
Your mindset shifts are super crucial for when you go to the doctor! In this episode, I give you time and specific journaling prompts for changing your mindset before going to the doctor's office and after. I will tell you how I change my perspective in my personal life and how it applies to your health.

Boundaries as a patient are challenging. That is why you must decidxe what you are doing before visiting a doctor. You need to make sure you are clear on what you want.
In this episode, I discuss my struggles with creating boundaries and the importance of accepting that sometimes medical visits are about hearing from an objective observer. I talk about my struggles with gestational diabetes and shame as a patient.
Give this episode a listen if you are wondering how to decide if a doctor's advice is some tough love you need or if you should go running for a second opinion.

When my Son was diagnosed with Club foot, it was a lot of processes. I was scared and miserable at the thought of losing out on the post-partum period I craved. I was most worried I could not handle it. Through help via counseling, friends, and medications, I was able to manage the depression and lead my son into a successful treatment even though I was doubtful of my ability to manage all of it.
This podcast is about how I accepted his diagnosis without having to feel the pressure to "overcome it." I did not have to be the mom that loved the treatment options available to me. I did not have to be vital for anyone else but me and my son. Acceptance was not an easy battle, and it was a real struggle for me. I hope this podcast gives you a little experience about how to look at your diagnosis.

When dealing with depression it is important to have an action plan. The best time to create an action plan is when you are not in a depressive state and that is the goal of today. If you are currently struggling with depression, this exercise should be done under the supervision of a licensed health provider.
It is important to know what are your warning signs for a depressive episode or for your other mental health disorders. These are things that usually cue you into the know that you need to support yourself today. Second, you should have a list of coping strategies that help you feel better. You should have a list of reasons you need to live. Reasons could be people in your life or events that are coming up or work that needs to be done. You are here for a reason. You are worthy of this life. Next you need to have a list of people you can contact when you are feeling down. Finally, create a list of places you can go to distract yourself~ this can be a park, a library or mall.
IF you are struggling with depression and need help in the USA, dial 988. The text line is 741741. These resources are available 7 days a week.
Finally, be kind to yourself and know you are loved and care for even when it doesn’t feel like it.

Want to know how to get your physician to listen to you during an appointment?
Tired of leaving an office visit feeling depleted and ignored?
Listen up because in today's episode we are discussing ways to help you feel seen and heard.
It is important to prepare for your appointment by setting a goal for your intended physician. This means that each appointment needs to have a small and specific goal that you want to achieve. Once this is set, you can collect the necessary information so that you can give a detail, but concise history to your doctor. Finally, give yourself space to think about the appointment. Get clear on how you feel and what steps you will take until you see that physician again. Be clear on your boundaries and what your outcomes will be. If you can bring someone with you to help with advocacy. At the end of the day, remember everyone has different perspectives. It is your job to have empathy and use this information to help you get where you ultimately want to go.

Hello Welcome to the Naturopathic Doc Podcast. I am your host Dr. Kailyn Galloway.
Are you Tired of going to doctors and finding no answers?
Feeling defeated by how you get dismissed by healthcare providers?
Sick of juggling appointments and not feeling like your best?
Are you curious about alternative medicine and want to know how you can take an active role in your healthcare?
Finally ready to make progress in your health?
In this podcast, you will find the solutions, so you get the care you deserve and your healthy life back. My mission is to help women with chronic illnesses regain their power by understanding their diagnosis, coaching them on how to get the most out of each doctor’s visit, and taking tangible steps toward fundamental changes in their health. If you’re ready to stop the waiting room madness and finally take the driver’s seat to your health, this podcast is for you.
Hey, I am Dr. Kailyn Galloway, and I am a Naturopathic doctor. I treat using a blend of traditional and alternative medicine. I have a strong foundation in western diagnostic medicine and pharmaceuticals, but I love to use nutrition, supplementation, exercise, and botanical medicine. I help women better understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and even symptoms. I have seen countless patients fearful of treatment options they don’t understand, consistently dismissed by healthcare providers, and feeling lost about what steps they can take now to feel better today.
I finally realized I have years of training on how to be a doctor. I have painstakingly honed my craft in diagnosis and treatment. But no one teaches you, the patient, how to get the most out of every office visit! And that’s where I come in, with some Naturopathic roots.
So if you are finally ready to do the work, understand how to flip the script, and become your health manager, then I hope you join me for the Naturopathic Doc Podcast
